Cambodia - Phnom Penh
2014 July operation
**** CURRENT OPERATION ABANDONED (almost) ****Unfortunately a lighning strike on our building in the early hours of the 22nd has destroyed my tuner, despite the tower being earthed beyond code, and all feed lines being fitted with lightning arrestors. Unless I can source a replacement locally (seems unlikely) I won't be operating again until the last week of August.
I've found a bit of wire and have cut a dipole to work on 20m. I won't be able to change bands as i've got no way of tuning, but at least i'm back up and running.
**** CURRENT OPERATION ABANDONED (almost) ****
I will be in the Kingdom of Cambodia once again between the 19th and 28th of July 2014 operating from my usual QTH (our office roof in downtown Phnom Penh). I'll be using the Icom IC-706mk2 which has grown roots in the office, and i'm taking a 10m fishing pole antenna.
I'll try to operate for several hours each day (UTC+7).
As per normal with this type of mini-DXpedition it ends up costing the operator a huge amount of money in terms of kit and transportation costs, so any donation of equipment (cable, antennas etc) or cash no matter how small is warmly welcomed.
QSL policy
All contacts are uploaded to LOTW, eQSL and clublog.
If you send me a bureau card via M6CFW it will be returned via the bureau.
