Good evening, everyone.
This is IZX.From tonight through Saturday morning, I will be tied up with a heavy work schedule. While I am watching his incredible performance (P29YY) on the screen, I won't be able to make a QSO with him myself, which is quite frustrating!
Clicking through, he is successfully carrying out the DXpedition he envisioned. His deep expertise, remarkable execution, and above all, his grueling "one-man" operation are outstanding. This will undoubtedly be passed down to future generations as a true "one-man legend.
"While watching the band activity over the past few days, I noticed an interesting phenomenon.The signal reports exchanged during QSOs show a distinct trend: reports for JA and other Asian stations are generally high, whereas reports for EU and NA/SA are on the lower side. Perhaps the distance from Papua New Guinea to Japan (around 4,000–5,000 km) provides the sweet spot for perfect propagation. For us JA stations, this is incredibly encouraging and exciting.I understand it has been just about a year since he started operating FT8. Yet, I cannot recall any previous DXpedition that has been this strong and stable—and amazingly, he has done everything from setting up the antennas to operating the station completely by himself!His operating skills are absolutely brilliant.
While using MSHV (multi-stream) to manage pile-ups is common practice in FT8 nowadays, he is exceptionally mindful of weaker stations. If you force too many streams, the output power per stream drops, causing receiving stations to lose track of him.He carefully calculates this margin and seems to stick to an "(n-1) stream" approach. Knowing that frequent retries slow down the QSO rate, he focuses on a "1 PICKUP to Finish" style while running multi-stream. The pile-ups are cleared so beautifully and efficiently that it’s hard to believe there is only one person behind the controls.Have you read his blog yet?The journey leading up to this DXpedition (his struggles), his choice of antennas, and his installation and operational methods are all deeply thought out and well-executed. Reading it makes me feel as if I am right there on the expedition with him.I highly encourage you to look for him on the air and share in this amazing experience.

While the QSO logs were initially uploaded in batches, they now seem to be updated almost instantly to QRZ.com and LoTW. I was amazed to see my 15m QSO result from today notified on my PC just a few minutes after the contact!

今夜から土曜日の午前中まで、私は仕事（ハードワーク）が詰まっています。そのため、画面で彼の活躍（P29YY）を見守りながらも、自分自身は彼とQSO（交信）することができません。とても残念でなりません。
それでも彼は、自らが理想とするペディションを見事に決行しています。その深い知見と抜群の実行力、そして何より「たった独り」での過酷なオペレーション。これは間違いなく、後世のアマチュア無線界に語り継がれる「たった独りの伝説」となるでしょう。
先日からの運用状況をワッチしていて、一点不思議なこと（興味深いこと）に気付きました。それはQSO時に交換されるレポートの傾向です。JA各局（アジア圏）に対しては総じて高いレポートが出ている一方、EUやNA/SA（欧米・南米）方面に対しては低めに出ているのです。パプアニューギニアから日本までの距離（約4,000〜5,000km）が、電波の伝搬としてちょうど絶妙なコンディションをもたらしているのでしょうか。我々JAの局から見ると、非常に頼もしく、かつワクワクさせられます。私がFT8の運用を始めてちょうど1年ほどですが、これほど強く、そして安定したペディション局は過去に記憶がありません。（驚くべきことに、彼はアンテナの設営から日々の運用まで、すべてをたった独りで行っているのです！）
また彼のオペレーション技術は本当に絶妙です。FT8において、MSHV（マルチストリーム）を駆使してパイルアップを捌くのは今や珍しくありませんが、彼は信号の弱い局（低シグナル局）への配慮が非常に細やかなのです。ストリーム数を無理に増やしてしまうと、1波あたりの送信出力が分散され、結果として受信側が彼を見失ってしまいます。彼はそのマージンを的確に見極め、あえて「(n-1) ストリーム」の運用を貫いているように見受けられます。リトライが増えればQSOのペースが落ちることを熟知しているのでしょう。出来る限り「1つのピックアップから確実にQSOを完了させる（1 PICKUP to Finish）」というスタイルを、マルチストリームで並行しながら徹底しています。そのため、本当に1人で運用しているのかと疑いたくなるほど、パイルアップが美しく、流れるように捌かれていくのです。
皆さんは、彼のブログをもうお読みになりましたか？このペディションが実現するまでの経緯（奮闘記）や、アンテナの選択、設置運用法などが非常に緻密に考察され、実践されています。ブログを読んでいると、まるで私自身も彼と一緒にペディションの現場に立っているかのような錯覚を覚えるほどです。ぜひ皆さんも、オンエアで彼を追いかけ、一緒にこのペディションを楽しんでください。追伸：当初は一部まとめてアップロードされていたQSOログですが、現在はリアルタイムに近い形でQRZ.comおよびLoTWへ反映されているようです。本日交信した15m（21MHz）の結果も、わずか数分で私のPC（Club Log等の通知システム）に届き、そのスピード感に大変驚かされました。

Have you managed to make contact with Franz Josef Land?
I hear there are some die-hard operators out there who have already bagged every single slot—FT8 on the 12–20m bands and CW on the 40–10m bands.
Our family is giving it our best shot, too, but we still haven't made contact on the 40m or 10m bands; it seems the timing just isn't working out for us.
Last night, I was aiming for a "New Band" contact with RI1FJL, but it didn't work out.
But then...
For some reason, there was an incredibly strong signal on 17m FT8.
Even with my modest setup (a humble long-wire antenna),
I was seeing a +26 signal report!
It was the kind of signal strength you rarely even see from domestic JA stations.
It turned out to be P29YY (Papua New Guinea)!!
