I will be QRV from EU-076, Lofoten Islands, from about June, 30th 2014 for 2 weeks. Operating 40-10m, mostly CW, little digital+ssb. Check 6m possible.
Hi, this is Wolf!
Born in 1950, license since 1972. Used several calls. First was DM4SHJ, most popular during the DDR-time were DM2AUJ and Y21UJ. From 1976 to 1990 QRV with home brew equipment on 80m DX. Worked nearly 300 DXCC on this band.
The photo above shown is my first and last home made equipment. It was a very hard job to do that for me, because I am chemist not an electronic ingeneer!
The numbers mean:
80m Receiver consists mainly from a Russian tank equipment (10 RT) plus converter
Power supply
80m Solid state transmitter
Solid state amplifier abt. 50 watts
"Legal limit" PA for 80mtrs with 8x PL519 tubes
Antennas at that time: Full size Delta Loop for 80m, W8JK 80m, Top loaded vertical 80m???????????????????????????????
It was a very simple RIG, but it worked!
After the German Re-Unification my call changed in DL1AUJ, but few years after I got my old call DM2AUJ back.
Now QRV all bands, all modes including digi and 6meters. Mostly QRV in CW, looking for DX. I like CW very much and makes me happy to hear the DX-sigs deep in the noise if SSB is not readable anymore. I am respecting the DX-Code of Conduct and stay for fair ham spirit.
During holidays with my family I am often be QRV from holiday-QTHs, if it is possible - see QSLs.
I am thank so much to my wonderful wife, to tolerate my hobby, sometimes the chaos of wires, coaxcables and equipment, making QRM during cooking, eating, TVI and ohters...
I am 100% QSLing via bureau or direct, but no eQSL, LoW etc. I very much like paper QSLs. Present rig at home:
IC 7800
PA PW1
3el. Stepp IR 40-6m
Pictures aboth show installing SteppIR in Sept. 2013
From time to time I am QRV from my weekend-QTH at the 28km long lake of Hohenwarte with IC 7400 and R7 Vertical or dipoles.
I am Member of: DOK X27, HSC # 817 I would be very happy to work you!
Best 73 Wolf
