Fort Paull, Yorkshires only remaining Napoleonic Fortress and a fantastic day out for all the family
Explore 500 years of history within the walls of this superb Napoleonic fortress set in 10 acres with magnificent views over the Humber estuary.
Fort Paull has been utilised in various roles since the first Fort was built on the site during the reign of Henry VIII. On this page you can find some brief information on its history from 1542 to the present day,  or for those seeking more in-depth information, a Historical Guide is available in our Gift Shop.

The First Fort At Paull
The first Fort to be be built at Paull was completed in 1542. This fort was commissioned by Henry VIII as a defence for the then thriving Humber Ports, specifically Kingston Upon Hull. A look into the Forts life during Henry VIII's reign can be found in one of the Fort's Caponieres ( a tunnel within a tunnel ).You can even see the man himself  in all his finery.

The English Civil War
When the English Civil War broke out, the Fort at Paull became a key strategic base for Charles I and his armies as they lay siege to the city of Hull

Guest Operators from far and wide are as always welcome to our activations. If you wish to stop over, then for a small fee, over night camping is available. All monies raised are used in the renovation of Fort Paull. The Fort receives NO funding from any organisation.
There is a cafe on site, and plenty of toilet facilities, and for those visiting the club, a hot drink is usually in order.
