In 2013 the QTH will be the Lotsane Game and Safari Lodge in the extreme eastern part of Botswana. I will be on the air from 6-11 September
.
This will be my 7th DxHoliday; Palau in 2004 T88AP, Swaziland 2008 and 2009 3DA0JK, and Lesotho 2010 and 2011 7P8JK. I have had great fun giving out these counties in the past and have tried to work everyone I can hear and look forward to working as many as I can this year. I have one request. If you have worked me please don't work me a second time on the same band. That way I can work more stations. Please be patient in the pile ups and I will work everyone I can hear.
This year I will have much more power and if propagation is good I should be able to work a lot more than last year (2350 QSO's in 6 days). My equipment will be a Icom 746pro, an Expert 1K amplifier, a Tennadyne T^ antenna with a vertical Butternut HF2V for 40 and 80 meters.
My wife, Joan and I go to southern Africa almost every year. We have done some missionary work in the past and continue to bring medicines to the medical clinics in the the areas we visit.
For QSL Dx stations please send 2 stamps and a 4x6 envelope. For State side QSL please send stamped 4x6 envelope. My QSL cards are unique and slightly larger than regular QSL cards. State side donation would be appreciated because of the cost of the cards. QSL is via WB6OJB and I'm on QRZ.com. Please no bureau QSL cards. I just received over 1000+ cards from the bureau dating back to 2008.It will take me years to go through them. Also no IRC's. The USA does not use them any more.
I would like to thank Andre Van Wyk, KJ0F and Chuck Foster (Frosty) K5LBU, for there assistance in arranging the trip and assistance in country. Without them the holiday would not be possible.
