The Special Call, P3EU, is to mark the occasion of Cyprus taking up, for the first time,
the Presidency of the EU for six months from 1st July 2012 to 31st December 2012.
Cyprus joined the European Community on 1st May 2004, it then went on to adopt the Euro
Currency on 1st January 2008, Paphos District has marked these occassions with a Special
Call sign.To follow on with this tradition, P3EU will be used during the six month period
of the Presidency by members of The Paphos District of the Cyprus Amateur Radio Society.
