To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the formation of the First Class CW Operators' Club (FOC), the special callsigns GC4FOC and GC4FOC/P will be aired from Wales during the month of May 2013. Special QSL cards will be available and the logs will be uploaded to the ARRL's Log Book of the World (LoTW) at the end of the activity. A log search facility will also be available here that will be updated on a regular basis.
Contacts with these stations will count as 10 points towards the FOC75 Award.
The GC4FOC call sign will be used on 13th, 14th and 15th May 2013 by the FOC President, G3IZD. |
The GC4FOC/P call sign will be used from Holy Island, IOTA EU-124 on 16th, 17th and 18th May 2013 by FOC member G3TXF. |
Founded in 1938, and with its roots, history and management in the UK, the First Class CW Operators' Club promotes good CW (Morse code) operating, activity, friendship and socialising via its worldwide membership of approximately 500. Members are active on all HF bands and the character of the club is best expressed in its motto: "A man should keep his friendship in constant repair" - Samuel Johnson (1755). FOC MEMBERS AIM TO….
