I have been active since 1985. Interested in chasing DX on 160 to 6m, mostly on CW plus some contesting. Ex VP8GAV 1990 to 1995 while working for British Antarctic Survey. Also operated as V2/GM0GAV, V26XX, S79GM, S79GT, 7Q7GM, VP8SDX, T2GM.
My current station is 2 x Elecraft K3 plus amplifers. Antennas are Optibeam 12-4 at 28m, F12 XR-5 at 18m, M2 6M5X at 22m, 80m phased verticals and 160m inverted L. For receiving on LF I have 4 x 2 wire beverages covering 8 directions plus a K9AY loop.
I have made it to 275 countries confirmed on 160m, which is similar to my 12 / 10m totals. I am hoping for more sunspots to improve my totals on 12, 10 and 6m. On CW I need CE0X, FT5W, KP1 and P5.
Married to Margaret and we have a young son, Robert. I have worked in telcoms since 1985, currently working on mobile networks with Ericsson for a second time.
QSL ok direct, bureau or LOTW.
