The association called "SANTIAGO FIRE DEPARTMENT" is to protect the lives and property on fire and eventually in other incidents occurring within the municipal territories of Santiago, Recoleta, Independencia, Estacion Central, Providencia, Las Condes, Vitacura, Lo Barnechea and Renca. Also may act unusually, within the same areas, qualifying circumstances in each case by the Commander.

 

This public utility service, nonprofit, was founded on December 20th, 1863, whose legal status was granted by the Ministry of Justice through the Supreme Decree of September 5, 1898. Integrate its ranks all individuals, domestic or foreign, taking at least eighteen years of age, are accepted as Fire.

 

Volunteer services are entirely free.
