JA1JQY (A31JY), JA3MCA (A31MA), JA8VE (A31VE) and JA1KJW (A31KJ) are now QRV from Tonga until November 15, 2012. Look for the group to be active on 160-10m, CW, SSB & RTTY. QSL via H/cs. *note – A31VE (JA8VE) is correct call (not A31VA as quoted elsewhere).

Tonga, officially the Kingdom of Tonga (Tongan: Puleʻanga Fakatuʻi ʻo Tonga), is asovereign state and an archipelago comprising 176 islands scattered over 700,000 square kilometres (270,000 sq mi) of the southern Pacific Ocean. Fifty-two of these islands are inhabited.^[4]

Lengthwise, the Kingdom stretches over a distance of about 800 kilometres (500 mi) in a north-south line located about a third of the distance from New Zealand to Hawaii.

Tonga also became known as the Friendly Islands because of the friendly reception accorded to Captain James Cook on his first visit there in 1773. He happened to arrive at the time of the ʻinasi festival, the yearly donation of the first fruits to the Tuʻi Tonga (the islands' paramount chief) and so received an invitation to the festivities. According to the writer William Mariner, the chiefs had wanted to kill Cook during the gathering, but could not agree on a plan.^[5]

Tonga is also the only island nation in the region to have avoided formal colonisation.^[6] In 2010, it took a decisive step towards becoming a fully functioning constitutional monarchyafter legislative reforms paved the way for its first partial representative elections.

CW=AQ31KJは既にGetしましたが、後は？
出来ればRTTYとUSBも頂きたいところ・・・でも何故かタイミングが合わなかった。
本日はPT0Sが全く無理ッポかったのでクルクル回していたところ偶然発見!!!
即コールした。。。だがSpotしたところミスコール・・・笑
JT65なら大丈夫ですが・・その他のデジモードは誤変換が結構あるのかも・・・
下記の2つの録音ファイルは、A31MAをUSBとRTTYモードで受信しました。
ウチの場合はHRD+USBが楽にデコード出来ていますネ・・・笑
※　某掲示板でも話題になっていたようですが・・・
