After 40 years in the UK, we now live on the South coast 60 miles West of Kingston near Malvern. At just over 2250ft ASL and 3 air miles inland of the beach, we enjoy a near panoramic view of the surrounding lowlands looking out to the sea horizon.
Our location is ideal for 6Y5WJ but vulnerable to the elements, especially during the hurricane season.
The station includes Kenwood/Yaesu equipment, a 5 band quad, a 160M inverted "L" with elevated radials, an 80M inverted "L", a 40M vertical and Beverages for Europe and USA.
I operate 99% CW and I'm a member of various CW clubs. I do operate other modes, but much prefer the challenge of CW. I've adopted the code of conduct, so if you hear me, do likewise and I WILL "eventually" answer your call.:)!
First licensed in 1982 as G6RXC and soon after, under the mentorship of G0FOC (Mick) achieved the “A” class license and subsequent callsign G0NAN.
We currently offer accommodation at our annex and my shack is also available to licensed hams who are interested in operating from "the other side of the pile-up",send an email to: joshwalkr@gmail.com for details.
Our visitors have included, the well known duo, Lali (VE3NE) and George (VE3NZ) who operated 6Y3M in CQWWCW.
George (6Y3M) again in one of the 160M contest, also the revered and well known Yuri (VE3DZ) operating SOAB HP as 6Y2T in the 2012 ARRL CW contestand crossing the finish line in second place with a score of 6.8M. The maestro returned the following year to take the title in the same contest. Allen (N2KW) has also put in an appearances for BERU and came back the following year for more of the same.

We also welcomed our European visitors to participate in the 2013 CQ WW DX CW contest 23-24 Nov. There were 5 operators from the Ural Contest Group, led by Igor UA9CDC with Vlad UP0L, Valery UN7LZ, Serge UA8DX and Vitaly RN4WA. Special callsign for this contest was 6Y7W operating in the Multi Single category and crossing the finishing line in 5th place with 13M+

Apply for a new Vanity callsign...

My name is Beth, and I am from the west coast of Wales. I passed my foundation licence MW6VOW in June 2012 after many years of procrastination. I have now upgraded to 2W0VOW at the begining of february 2013 .
Equipment here is a Flex-3000 , Kenwood TS-480HX and Yaesu FT-920. For antennas, I started off using my home built 3/4 wavelength 40 meter band wire (30m), with 1/4 wave counterpoise (10m). I then got a 2 el quad with 5 bands (thanks Steve). My latest antenna project has been my new SteppIR DB18 - a 3 element yagi with two active elements on 40, one element on 30, and 3 elements from 20 - 6 meter bands. You can see pictures of the SteppIR installation below here. I still have all the antennas mentioned above, but use the SteppIR most of the time.
Thanks for stopping by my page. If you have worked me on one of the bands, thanks for the QSO and look forward to many more QSO's
QSL INFO: Please NO QSL via the bureau. QSL to eQSL or to my QSL manager EB7DX with $ 2 USD or 1 IRC and $ 1
Many thanks to Lyn VK4SWE, I received this beautiful pink key in the mail today - thanks Lyn !!!! smileyand thanks to John, ZS5J for the Bencher paddle key yes
The shack March 2013, with the new Flex-3000 and dual monitors
I was recently issued with a 5 year licence to operate from Mozambique with the callsign C91B
New tower, right after it had been installed smiley

Tower modified to accept the new SteppIR DB 18, with Prosistel rotator yes

Getting the new SteppIR onto the tower
John, ZS5J flew over to help with the tower and antenna - seen here on the ladder - September 2012

Dad and daughter

Big thanks to my dad and also John ZS5J for helping would never have happened without them yes

SteppIR DB 18, a 6.9 Mhz - 54.0 Mhz beam antenna up in the air .

My 2nd operator MØUSE a.k.a Mouse

My 2 element 5 band quad - 20/17/15/12/10 meter bands.
