I am a retired Mechanical and Electrical Systems Consultant and have been a ham for the past 36 years. I have finally fully retired spending the winter months at our home near Phoenix then most of the summer traveling. I retired from APS (the main electric utility company in Arizona) in 2003 then spent the first 9 years of retirement working for them as a contract consultant when back at home.
I run all HF bands 160 through 10 meters along with some 6, 2 and 440 from my home station. My main interest is SSB DX but I also enjoy PSK31 and a little JT-65 both at home and when traveling in the motorhome.  The past few months I have been checking in regularly with a great group of hams on 40 meters in the mornings and am slowly becoming a rag chewer.  Much of my time lately has been spent trying to learn all the features of my new Kenwood TS-990.
I QSL electronically only through both eqsl.cc and LoTW and usually upload my logs monthly.
If you work me in the summer months K7ABS and I are probably in the motorhome traveling somewhere cooler than Phoenix. We really enjoy the RV lifestyle in the summer months and have traveled in just about all of the US and much of Canada. I run APRS anytime the rig is in motion. The present position of the motorhome can be seen on http://aprs.fi/k7sid-8. If you see us traveling near your location, try calling on 146.42 simplex as we always monitor there when driving in the RV.
I also like to operate HF, VHF and UHF from our motorhome when traveling. We use 146.42 simplex to talk back and forth when the motorhome and tow vehicle are separated or if other hams are traveling in convoy. If you are in range, give us a try.
The picture is of our Motorhome RV in a campground on the Grand Mesa of Colorado. A number of my contacts were asking questions about how my screwdriver antenna was mounted, so I thought a picture would be the best explanation. The tip of the antenna is at about 22 feet so I fold the hinged mount over before taking it back on the road. The ground side of the antenna is bonded to the aluminum ladder with the bottom of the ladder bonded to the frame to provide the counterpoise. It works reasonably well and can tune everything between 80 and 10 meters. I can also run individual Hustler and Hamstick antennas for various bands from another mount at the front of the rig.
The picture above shows the 40 meter quarter wave antenna I often use when camping in places where I can't attach a wire to a nearby tree. I use a collapseable fiberglass flag pole to support the far end of the wire at about 27 feet above ground. The chassis of the 37 foot motorhome is my only counterpoise for both antennas.
