8N1A is a limited-term JARL event station commemorating the 40th year of ASEAN-JAPAN Friendship and Cooperation.

Year 2013 marks the 40th year of friendship cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Japan. The Japanese Government is endorsing various activities to commemorate the milestone event throughout 2013. 8N1A is an event station of JARL officially endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. To know more about the event, please visitthe official website of the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

The event station is operational from April 6 through August 31st 2013, JST (UTC+9hrs). With the help from supporting amateur radio clubs and individual hams mainly from Tokyo and its vicinity, the event station will come on the air practically on all bands and modes, mostly from, but not limited to, JA1 area. We look forward to meeting you on the air!

The event station website (sorry, only in Japanese):

QSL policy: Unless requested otherwise, 8N1A will unilaterally confirm every QSO via the bureau, so there is no need to send us requests so long as you are fine with the routing. Should you prefer QSLing direct, please send us SAE with 1 IRC, 1 € or 2 GSs (we appreciate your understanding that 1 GS is no longer sufficient to cover our overseas postage) to our QSL manager at the above address, with “8N1A” printed as the addressee.
QSL Cards: We plan to produce two types of differently designed QSL cards, one for QSOs during the first three months, and the other for the last two months. While the QSL manager will work diligently, your patience will be appreciated especially with the traffic via the bureau. (Below: for April, May and June QSOs)
