    The conditions today(4/7) were excellent.

As you can see, his signal was a +7, the highest I've ever received.

I've failed to make QSOs with him several times before, so I was very happy that today's QSO was successful.

Actually, the antenna wire had been cut by strong winds the day before, so this QSO took place right after I had to make emergency repairs.

There's a Japanese proverb that says,

     "Turn misfortune into fortune." 「災い転じて福となす。」

Today's events might be a perfect example of it.

    OUR OPERATING ACTIVITY

During several operating trips to the
    Central African Republic (
    TL8GD),
    Chad (
    TT1GD), Congo (TN8GD)
I set up permanent amateur radio stations at the local QTHs.
The radios and antennas stayed on site and are looked after by local caretakers.

I hold valid permanent licences for both locations.
Whenever conditions allow, the stations are on the air from time to time,
including remote operation, mainly on FT8, FT4, FT2, CW and SSB
(testing the new option in N1MM called PIPER).

    ------------------------

    Podczas wyjazdów do
    Republiki Środkowoafrykańskiej i Czadu,

    WHO IS WHO
    Darek

    TJ1GD TL8GD TT1GDTN8GD and HF3GD and ex-SP3GDH

Since 1993 I have been living in Cameroon,
    where I run three orphanages:
    Bertoua – since 1999, Yaoundé – since 2009, Kribi – since 2021

Depending on the financial situation, between 25 and 40 children are in my care at any given time.
My priority is to provide them with a safe home and the best education possible.
The youngest children are about 3 years old, while the oldest are students and adults with disabilities.
They come not only from Cameroon, but also from neighbouring countries such as
Chad, the Central African Republic and even Rwanda.
Our orphanages are officially recognised by the Ministry of Social Affairs and
are regarded as the best in Cameroon.

    Amateur Radio

In my spare time, I try to devote some energy to amateur radio and
to introduce my youngsters to our hobby.
From time to time I travel to neighbouring countries to:
substitute for priests while they are on holiday,
help others learn how to run similar centres,
    and visit former pupils.
Because of these regular trips I hold several licences in the region.

    At present my callsigns are:

    TJ1GD– main callsign (Cameroon)
    TL8GD – Central African Republic
    TT1GD – Chad
    TT1GD – Congo

When I am in Chad as TT1GD,
I try to be as active on the bands as my pastoral and organisational duties allow.

    Support, Logs & QSL

I am grateful for any financial support
    – even the smallest donation helps to maintain and develop the orphanages.
Contributions can be made via PayPal and other services listed on my QRZ.com pages.
Logs from my operations are uploaded to ClubLog.
I confirm QSOs via traditional QSL cards and LoTW.
Current activity can be followed in real time via ClubLog Livestream.

    Wsparcie, logi i QSL

Jestem wdzięczny za każde wsparcie finansowe

    20260321 JJ5IZY info.

    Hello to all.

I'd like to share some information about JJ5IZY (Rika)=my wife.

Since recently becoming active on the air,

I have been progressively setting up eQSL, QRZ.com, Clublog, and ARRL LoTW.

    Before her HF debut,

Her experience was limited to local QSOs on the 144MHz band

    and the Banaba Island Dxpedition(2013).

Recently, seeing me (JJ5IZX) resume Ham radio using FT8 and other

technologies seems to have rekindled some of their interest.

Now I give to her some items.

        A     Transceiver

        B     NotePC

        C    Share antenna system

      20260208 eQSL?? ( Others ) ...

       20260208 eQSL?? ( Others ) ...

      - from email's -

Looking at the date, it was 13 years ago.

      Colin san many thanks 73 : )

It's like you can see the Dxer's personality through the handwriting.

And makes sense that letters still exist today.

      Many thanks Karel san 73 : )

These sepia-toned QSL cards have a human warmth to them.

They're a different experience from the card collecting I was obsessed with as a boy's (mainly of TV characters).

What is it about them that gives me such an indescribable sense of comfort?

      Carlos san thanks 73 : )

This QSL really catches your eye.

      The composition is great.

I was curious, so I looked it up on QRZ.com and it made sense.

Yann san your are Great Designer !! 73 : )

      This QSL is also eye-catching.

I was inspired by the red of the letters.

IZX's new QSL uses this red.

Tks Boris san  Nice Idea 73 : )

This one looks like an event station.

      Perhaps it's Route 66 related?

Either way, stations like this are very welcome.

I'll follow you all the way across the Pacific.

A hot QSL just arrived from Costa Rica.

Arrived just as I updated my BLOG.

Very nice nice setting rig and more : )

      TKS Minor san 73 : )

Ihad receved many many station's QSL.

      Thanks all Best 73 : )

      20260124 eQSL & More ? ...

      20260124 eQSL & More ? ...

      Hello All!!

This time, I talk about electronic QSL cards.

      - eQSLs -

      If, without him,

My amateur radio activities would have been small and short-lived.

He always called me when he found my weak signals, and he introduced me to Dxers all over the world.

It was also thanks to him that I got an award in the ROS mode.

      ... Hard to say...

Thank you so much Victor san  .    I am truly grateful... 73 : )

One day, TL3VLM Victor san adviced to me ... soon One Dxer Came to here(ROS) ..

      Waoooo .. 9H1D TOBISCH san...Of cause I sucsessed QSO.

He was very kindly and send to me his eQSL.

Many many thanks.. Cu Agn TOBISCH san  73 : )

Hi Jean san .. How are you?  I hope to see you agin any degi-mode .. 73 :)

The ROS mode allows text chat (regardless of whether a QSO was established or not).
Even when the signal quality was poor and a QSO was not possible, I was able to chat, so we promised to try again at a later date.
Although I had a few failed attempts, I think I was able to make QSOs with most DX stations.

Compared to FT8, I think I was able to have more intimate QSOs in the areas where chat was possible.

I had fun every night during the season.

For me, it's very difficult to make QSOs with the Caribbean region.

But I was lucky enough to make a QSO with him.

Before FT8, ....PSK was the mainstream digital mode.

A lot of station used PSKs .... exsample ZD7VC(Bruce san).

Nepal is a relatively close region to Japan.

However, QSOs are difficult because there are few active stations

and the radio propagation conditions seem unfavorable.

      Here too, PSK proved useful.

      I also occasionally used RTTY.
      It requires a large power.
This is obvious when compared to low-power communications like FT8.
But I gave it a try.
Although I didn't manage to score as many QSOs as I did with PSK, I did manage to score with an unexpected DX station.
      That was him.
This was probably just good timing, but it's a precious QSO for me.
I remember being so excited when I finally managed to succeed, despite being annoyed by the garbled text caused by QSB.
It was a great moment for me.
This excitement is the best part of amateur radio.
      Many Thanks RTTY QSO ..
You have given me the greatest excitement and happiness.73 : )

When you think of amateur radio stations in Gabon, you think of him.

I'm sure stations all over the world followed his signals and asked for QSLs.

I've also been able to make QSOs on everything from SSB to FT8, mostly on 20M.

I'm just so grateful ....Now I can see any band & mode .. See ya ALAIN san 73 : ).

eQSL ... last station is him (TG9AHM).

The only one from Guatemala is TG9AHM.

I recently received other stations via FT8, but unfortunately.

I wasn't able to make a QSO because of QRM and QSB.

The only proof I have of my QSO with him is eQSL, and I have not yet obtained a LotW or Paper QSL.

It was 13 years ago, so it may be difficult to obtain a QSL, but I will get it a try.

If .. if ..  Emmanuel san reading here, Please send to me a Paper QSL card.  : ) 73

Now I got many many eQSL...

There are many memorial QSLs for me.

Many Thanks ... All of staions...ARIGATOU!!!
