If you want by the Bureau please understand we are only a small country so can take a long time to get a reply, we see many people complain but with a country with below 8 active Hams its not like the UK/Germany in the 1000's I hope this explains, as some people just dont undersand the siuation, and just make silly comments, this operation is done on battery power and paper logs and from a fold up table in the heat! so hope this also explains the LOTW situation.
We look forward to working as many stations as possible over this weekend.
And thanks for your understanding

Calling the world from the lighthouse
Over last weekend the Gibraltar Amateur Radio Society was active from the Lighthouse on the Ham Radio Bands, calling the world.
The Lighthouse event as it’s called, happens every year in August during the 3rd weekend, the purpose of this event is to put Gibraltar Lighthouse on the Air, using the special Call sign ZB2LGT, this year was a success over 2000 contacts were made on various modes of Transmission, including voice, Data and the traditional Morse Code, just a few of the contacts made were to New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Argentina and most of Europe, plus many other light houses were contacted, that were participating in the same event.
GARS (Gibraltar Amateur Radio Society) would like to thank Terry the Lighthouse keeper for use of the area and also another thank you to Sharrock Shands for use of the staff canteen porta cabin. This year 4 local Ham Stations were involved: Ronald Pincho (ZB2B) John M King (ZB2JK) Stephen Moreno (ZB3R) Ernest Stagnetto (ZB2FK)
*Any one interested in Ham Radio should visit the club house at Coaling Island every Wednesday at 8:30pm; this is an informal meeting and can be introduced into Ham Radio.
The Call ZB2LGT will be used during the Annual Light House on the Air Event during the20th and 21st of August 2011
(LIGHTHOUSE REF NUMBER GIB-001 (EUROPA POINT LIGHTHOUSE)
For QSL please send to ZB2JK for 2011, and include 1 IRC or $2 for Special Lighthouse QSL Card, By doing this you will get a QSL in return no IRC/$2 your card will not be replied to.

Greeting from S. Central Washington State!
I enjoy Ham Radio, particularly aspects of antenna performance and radio wave propagation (a science and an art.) Rarely pass-up a Rag-chew via any mode. Background includes HF-UHF communications op, analyst and/or consultant for the USAF & Joint military operations. Also twisted wrenches to service and repair flight/power control systems on jet fighter aircraft, specifically the F-15 A-D.
CURRENT ANTENNAS:
HF:
10m vertical, 5/8th (MAX 2000) Tweaked the coil and added GP elements for 10, 12 & 15 meters. Antenna is roof mounted @ 38' with a fiberglass mast to reduce noise. Good to excellent performance on 10-15m.
80M OFFSET-DIPOLE (WINDOM, Vertical radiator design) @ 40'. Good performer on 80,40,20 & 17M.
VHF/UHF:
2M/440 DIAMOND X510HDN @ 38'. Excellent performance 2M/440 DIAMOND X-50NA @ 25'. A remarkable general ops & test antenna. 2M HOME BREW "Double Copper Cactus" J-Pole" @ 15' Simple design, reliable performance.
Prior calls & ops:
KB7IZE 89' - 93' (Mobile, 10-15m)
KA8ZE (Auxilliary Military Radio station, Misawa AB, JP, USAF, 90' - 93'.) HF DX, AMTOR, PACTOR, RTTY, CW and VHF simplex voice & packet. SATCOM and Moon-bounce.
