Hello! I'm a 66 year old extra class ham. I've been an amateur radio operator for over 50 years! I'm transmitting from deep in a pine forest 45 milesnorthwest of Detroit. Currently I operate CW only. Listen for me mostly on 20 meter or occasionally on 40 meter CW.
The picture above shows my Cushcraft A3S tribander beamingnorthup 52 feet on my TriEx W-51 tower. The Spruce pine trees surround the beam and extend above it but have no effect on the antenna's loading orSWR!
I will QSL with postage paid for sure to any QSL sent to me directly. No need to send any money or stamps.
Please note that my mailing address is different than my shipping address as my mail box is located in our Holly, Michigan post office.
73's!

I have written an article "RVing and Ham Radio" and QST turned it down for publication so my daughter helped put it in a wed page if you are interested you can see it here:http://n5pht.weebly.com/ Ham Station on the Road:
We sometimes travel in our RV and so far I have operated portable from 18 or more States and it has been fun. Look toward bottom of this page for a complete list of portable operations in recent couple of years. (NOTE: In April 2014 traded 5th wheel for a 31 foot motorhome and it is now ham ready!)
Been a ham since 13 May 1986 and active off and on until about 2000 and very active since then.
Antenna Farm: Tennadyne T8 log at 80 feet on the top of the tower. This covers 20-10 meters. For 30, 40, 80 and 160 meters I use an inverted vee dipole fed with ladder line to a balun and then coax into the shack.
Primary Station: ICOM 746 PRO and generally run 100 watts. I have an Ameritron ALS-600 solid state 600 watt amp that I use from time to time. Well, I do love chasing DX and here are my awards thus far on the DX chasing:
73 de N5PHT, Gary Stone
AND - most of all and most important, a Child of GOD. The LORD does not issue certificate numbers because the "first shall be last and the last first." May you find the Lord as He loves you too.
