noPlease Note: VP8LP does not respond to people who call using only their suffix.nocrying
Good operating tip would be to give your full callsign once, then listen 4-5 seconds to see if I have heard you or am replying to someone else before you make a second call.yes
noI consider stations who call - call - call repeatedly without pausing to listen to be QRMers angry
angryand will be ignored.angry

Please note I do not upload logs electronically. The reason for this is because requests were coming in for uploads to too many different QSL systems, for example LOTW, EQSL, QRZ, Clublog and so on. There is alwaysa huge amount of email requests associated with log uploads and my hobby is amateur radio, not email, so I have decided I will not upload to any systems to avoid this increasing problem.
I have also recently had a number of Bureau cards returned undelivered, which is a waste of cards and effort, so unfortunately I have to say I will no longer respond to cards sent via the Bureau - direct cards with sufficient postage and self addressed envelope only please.
I do apologise having come to this decision.

I am a supporter of the DX Code of Conduct:
I will listen, and listen, and then listen again before calling.
I will only call if I can copy the DX station properly.
I will not trust the DX cluster and will be sure of the DX station's call sign before calling.
I will not interfere with the DX station nor anyone calling and will never tune up on the DX frequency or in the QSX slot.
I will wait for the DX station to end a contact before I call.
I will always send my full call sign.
I will call and then listen for a reasonable interval. I will not call continuously.
I will not transmit when the DX operator calls another call sign, not mine.
I will not transmit when the DX operator queries a call sign not like mine.
I will not transmit when the DX station requests geographic areas other than mine.
When the DX operator calls me, I will not repeat my call sign unless I think he has copied it incorrectly.
I will be thankful if and when I do make a contact.
I will respect my fellow hams and conduct myself so as to earn their respect.

This is why you hear CO6YI very well in other continents, its a home made amp using a pair of 4-400 tubes designed and built by my dad CO6LG making about 1KW PEP into our dipole antennas.

This is my mom CO6EI and dad CO6LG

These are my wifeand my dad with me at a local pub.

Me and the love of my life

This is Sti-Spiritus,the capital of my province.

Now enjoy this small video about Sti-Spiritus:

Now some pictures of my hometown Venegas:

This is our central park where is the statue of Jose marti
our national apostol This is a tipical grocery store

This is the old hospital

And this is the new hospital we are building.

One of the great events that runs in my town is the local rodeo every weekend and these pictures show how we enjoy thesefestivities here.

Born and raised in Yaguajay, province ofSti-Spirituson Nov 30 of 1979.
I am an engineer in computers science and I am doing now a Master degree on same field;been a ham since Dec 28 of 1996 when I took my first novice class test, now I am extra class. My radio station for HF is Kenwood TS-50 plus a Yaesu FP-757 Power supply, besides I have a homemade lineal amplifier made using a pair of 4-400 for 1KW,for 2M FM I do have a Kenwood TK-760.My antennas for HF are all home made dipoles and for 2M I built also two yagis of 4 elements each as you can see here:

My first HF radios were all made by my father Lorgio who is also a ham with call sign CO6LG,these radios were all double sideband and the cabinets were of wood, my mom is also a ham op with call CO6EI.
I spend most of my time in radio chasing for DX specially new countries on all bands from 80 to 10M.

QSL Direct : NO IRC's please; as they are not honoured locally.

Due to substantially increased postal rates --
North, Central & South America -destinations -US$2.00
Europe, Africa, Asia and PacificRim - destinations -US$3.00 per request.

If at all possible, send 'self stick' type envelopes with the protected adhesive strip for the return card. The humidity seals all regular ones shut, and I have to pry them loose. Not a pretty sight!
