- HF : 10, 12, 17, 40 & 80m Bands
- SSB, CW & all digi modes
- On CW, pse QRS I'm just a beginner

How to get the QSL :
  • Via the Logbook Of The World (LOTW). It's the best way to get the confirmation : free & fast.
  • Via Eqsl.cc
Logs are uploaded regularly to the Eqsl & Lotw server (daily)
  • Via Direct (fast reply guaranteed)
    • For french stations, Self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE). (ETSA ou un timbre)
    • For the others stations, enclose an S.A.E and at least 1 new IRC or 2 "green stamp" to cover postage
  • Via the Buro

All direct QSL must be sent to :
From now (15/03/2010), Qsl without contribution will be returned via the buro, too many request these last months.
Keep in mind that QSLs via F (TK) bureau may take over a year to reach you.

I was a shortwave listener for many years and now enjoy speaking with all the stations I have regularly heard over the years.
So, if you need a contact with Corsica, pse drop me an email for sked and it will be a pleasure to make a contact with you.
6mtrs band is allowed since March 2013.

Been a ham since early 1993, Love the hobby it's no wonder they call it the greatest of all. I love to chase dx and although a do most modes by far the digi-modes are my favorites especially psk-63. I live in Labrador West CQ ZONE 2 and over the years I've helped many hams achieve WAZ. Sorry to disappoint folks but after much thought I have decided not to respond to any more qsl's via the buro, (I will however qsl via direct with 1 IRC or 2 green stamps (not 1 USD) for international & US postage) and E-QSL only. The Canadian postal services do not honor foreign stamps.
I worked for 30 yrs as a tradesman here for a large mining company, retired in 2003 and went to work as an instructor for a local college in 2004, a great place to work and I get all summer to ride my motorcycles and play radio mostly from VO1'Land this year I'll be using VO1III in memory of a dear ham friend Daniel NadreauVE2III.

Some of the gear I use, a FT100mp Ic-706 for mobile use, as much as I like these rigs my favorite has to be the Elecraft K-2, fantastic little rig.
The photo an Inukshuk I made on a mountain east of Labrador City I call it "Enjoying the View". I snowshoed there, a long hard walk but the view at the end was well worth the climb.
Hope to catch you on the bands sometime.
73/88 de VO2NS.

My QSL Manager is W4JS - please send SASE, IRC or green stamps. NOTE: Sorry, I cannot accept or reply to cards sent to the station QTH in Volcan, Panama - NO bureau cards please! They may be delayed for one year, or never arrive! I do not use Lotw nor E-qsl, so a paper card to the manager is your way to receive confirmation, if wanted.
I am retired and very active outside of ham radio, so I do NOT usually make or keep schedules. If I am in the shack, my listening &/or operating information is updated every few minutes at: http://www.hp3ak.jaymills.org/Be sure to check the Date & Time (EST) as the last update will always be shown.
STATION: I'm located at 4,757 feet above sea level (1,450 meters), 30 miles (50 km) from the Pacific (clear view) and 30 miles (50 km) from the Caribbean (mountain range). My station is either a Kenwood 590S or Icom 756 Pro 3, Drake L4B amplifier or Alpha 87A, and 3 element SteppIR (20 - 6 meters) at 65 feet. I have a 3 element phased delta loop array on 75 meters (pictured below). I also use inverted V antennas on 40, 80, & 160 meters. I only operate SSB at this time.
HP3AK 3el 75m loops
I sometimes use the Alpha 87A amp. The amplifier was struck by lightning in May of 2011 and Alpha twice refused to send the ordered parts to fix it. See the site at www.alpha9500.com for details (over 100 new visits per month). * The 87A is field repairable IF you can get the parts! I was able to get the parts from other suppliers for MUCH less money than from Alpha.
In stark contrast to RF Concepts (Alpha), the SteppIR antenna folks go out of their way to be helpful and to provide the necessary parts and information for field repair.  Even though I operate in somewhat harsh conditions, the 3 element SteppIR has performed brilliantly for the past 5 years.  As with anything mechanical, there have been a few issues.  However, with the factory's help, they have all been resolved.
-----
Previous operations during 2007 and until January 16, 2008 were from HP3/K1YJ. * W4JS is the QSL manager for all of these operations as well.
Cards for K1YJ operations from Nashville, TN U.S.A. go to the QRZ address and may take several months for a reply.
