PLEASE DO NOT put St. Helena stamps or stamps from the country in which you are mailing on your SAE. PleaseDO NOT send IRC's

For fantastic Custom QSL cards have a look at www.printed.it As used by ZD7VC and many other ZD7 Stations as well as DX stations (and noteably Big Dx-peditions) right around the world. If YOU want fantastic looking QSL cards that other Ham Operators would love to have gracing their shacks then you'll need to contact Alfio - IT9EJW and send him the pictures that you want on your card and let him design you a FANTASTIC QSL CARD - Guaranteed you won't be disappointed!!!!
Don't just take my word for it though - see what the reviews on www.eham.net have to say!! Look for IT9EJW QSL's.
If you've also been the recipient of Alfio's beautiful artwork perhaps you too might like to post a review onwww.eham.net - thanks.
Islands on the Air (IOTA) - could all stations who live on Islands please consider putting your IOTA reference number on your QSL cards.
To those of us who wish to collect IOTA numbers for awards or otherwise it's frustrating to find that this tiny bit of very important information is missing from the QSL card.
On the 16 January 2011 I worked KA5N who said that he'd never worked St. Helena Island (ZD7) in all of his 56 years of hamming. On the 3rd June 2012 I had the good fortune of having a 10 meter contact with I6TJD - Francesco who it turned out was 83 years old and had been hamming for 65 years and this was his first contact with St. Helena Island(ZD7).
I would be very interested to hear from Ham Operators who live off the grid. I am in the process of accumulating equipment for an off grid solar installation. At present I have four 250w Sanyo HIT panels, a Midnite Classic 150 MPPT Charge Controller, and an Outback VFX3048E @ 50hz and still accumulating equipment. On the 7th November 2013 I had the pleasure of working WB4VMP Seymour "SY" who was 97 years old and had been licenced for 75 years having acquired his licence in 1936.

Thank you
Vy 73's Bruce - ZD7VC

For QSL Card via Bureau, I will reply and/or send through the global QSL Services. ( http://www.globalqsl.com ). This is the best way and too much more efective than local Bureau. All incoming direct QSLs without GS or IRC will be replied immediately thru the Global QSL Service.

Perhaps my biggest challenge in this hobby is to work/confirm all 3077 counties. You are VERY welcome to send your card in case we worked and you can't find your county in my confirmed counties list
I currently have  counties confirmed which leaves  of the road behind me. It sure looks like a loong journey ;)
I participate in Japan cities award as well. If we have had a qso
and you can't find your city in my confirmed jcc list then I really
appreciate your qsl card! My current JCC confirmation count stands
at  which is  of total JCC-s.
Russian hams are really nice people. Most of them are very polite,
talented and passionate about our hobby. It's a real challenge
to work and get qsl confirmation from all  districts of this
vast sparsely populated country. Nobody has done it yet.
My confirmation count is  which is not bad at all.
Germany has the biggest ham population in EU. Very good qsl-ers.
I had to figure out how to make those close range qso-s more
exciting for me. The answer is collecting DOK-s on magic band (6m).
So far I have out of 1000+ DOK-s confirmed with cards.

Station setup - Icom 756p3, Palstar AT1KP antenna tuner, Ameritron AL80B amplifier.

Station is powered by Astron RS35A power supply.

CW from my shack comes from a fabulous Begali Sculpture paddle

Streetview of my homebrew 17m band moxon 48ft (14.8m) up

Same 17m moxon from different angle.

February 2012. 12m moxon and 4el LFA for 6m.

August 2012. My flagship moxon - 20m. Great tool for those summer morning W6, W7 openings.

October 2012. Our first snow and my new 15m moxon, 3el yagi for 10m, fixed towards Japan.

Amateur radio equipment in Europe is ridiculously expensive. It's a lot cheaper to get plane tickets and buy your stuff from USA.
I have bought all my station equipment from Ham Radio Outlet. I highly recommend this place. Very nice staff.
It took me two trips (one to Delaware, another to Oregon) to drag it all home. You should have seen the faces of TSA when they asked me
to open my hand luggage and saw 48lbs (21kg) Ameritron amp inside. They could barely move it ;)

I DO like old school paper QSL-s, so feel free to send them in. I will reply to all received cards.
Estonian bureau works very well (and is on my way home from work), so this is the preferred way.
However - please do not send cards for duplicate band-mode qsos.
Postage from Estonia to EU is 1.00 EUR and 1.10 EUR to all others.
Sorry to say, but I can't reply direct to 1GS cards. Such cards go back via buro.
