I was born on 1974, I work for the public railway company as an engine man. I was a rugby player ,a basketball referee and now i'm a rugby coach. In my little station there are FT450AT, FT857,FT817,FT23,FT8800,THF7E and many home made antennas.Never over 100w.Licensed since 2005.

I am Mathew, (in cw mode Mat). Date of birth.8-7-1950.

My qth is kattappana a small village in the central eastern part of Kerala,South INDIA.

Kattappana was a forest area before 1950. Now it is a small town. my qth/9* 44' 17.68" N 77* 6' 55.90" E ( see Google earth)

The elevation of kattappana is about 3500 feets msl, average temperature is 25 degrees Celcius.

My mother tongue is not English!! It is Malayalam. It was in 1960 when I saw a RADIO for the first time!! Then I got VERY interested in radio.

My mother helped me a lot to know more about radio.

Now I am very proud because I have many friends around the world.I can speak to them,YOU too!!!!

Now i have Icom IC-7000 and Yaesu FT 7B rig. I am also using an old ex-military rig.Pwr is 15 watts with an Amplifierof 300watts (Home made).

Dipole for 40 meter, 3 elements yagi for 20 meter, another Dipole for 15 meters.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT ME AND THE HOBBY

I am originally from a country with over 300 varieties of cheese… France !

I was born in Evreux (North Western France) in 1983 but mainly grew up in a little village near Béziers (Southern France) where I lived until the age of 18.

I enjoy travelling and very much like being exposed to different cultures as it develops a rewarding sense of open-mindedness and humanity.

Throughout my student life, I got the chance and luck of living in Germany, Italy and Syria.

As for my story of passion with radio, I caught the virus at the age of 12 and got my Amateur Radio license in 1999.

Since day one, this has been an addiction I have been unable to get rid of !

I enjoy DXing and experimenting with homemade antennas.
