The TK4Z opération took place from the Domaine St. Pierre, a hotel located in the village of Cargèse. Although the island of Corsica is a french continental département, it counts as a separate country for DXCC purposes and for most contest opérations. The history of Corsica is an island became French in 1769 and which was often subject to strategic issues and external influences while retaining a strong particularism, due to its relative isolation.
