This new group was formed primarly to participate on the annual Amateur Radio exercise of the ARRL's Field Day, and with that in mind, to also promote any field-operations like special events, activations, contests and the like, as well cooperate with other individuals and clubs in the development of such activities, at the same time exposing them via various media outlets, so fellow hams worldwide can learn about amateur radio in Puerto Rico.
