J75KG has become possible due to the help of Lambert, J73LC, the Dominican licensing authorities and the kind folks at Sea Cliff Cottages near the village of Calibishi.
July 2000 daily operation - 7,440 July 2000 IARU Contest - 2,192 November 2000 daily operation - 8,805 November 2000 CQWW CW Contest - 5,183
November 2000 with K5AF/J79APS - daily operation for 10 days + CQWW CW.
July 2001 - K5KG activated J75KG again from July 7 to July 17, 2001,including the 2001 IARU Contest.
July 2002 with Fred, NA2U/J79MM. Daily operation for 10 days + IARU Contest.
November 2002 with John W4IX/J79JRC. Daily operation for 10 days + J75A was activated as the call for the 2002 CQWW CW contest. Conducted ham radio training class for 8 J7-hopefuls. ARRL provided the training materials. Assistance by Lambert, J73LC, and Raymond, J73RJ. Tree climbing by Don-Ford Harper who proved to be very helpful with antenna chores and other hard work. He cooked us a dinner of roasted bread fruit and salt cod.
May 20-29, 2003 Operation by George, K5KG. Daily operation was concentrated on the WARC bands. CQ WPX CW single op was done using the call J7A.
Feb 14-24, 2004 Operation by George, K5KG, W4IX/J79JRC and K3TEJ/J79Z. In 10 days of operation, the team made 24,000+ Qsos. Qsls for J79JRC to via W4IX and J79Z Qsls go via K3TEJ. J7OJ was used in the ARRL DX CW Contest as a memorial to Jim White, K4OJ, who became a silent key on February 12, 2004, only 9 days before the contest.
Nov 2004, Operation by George, K5KG, Ron, WA9IRV/KK9K, Jim, WI9WI, and Derrick, VE4VV. J7OJ was used in the CQWW DX CW Contest as a memorial to Jim White, K4OJ, who became a silent key on February 12, 2004.
February 2006 for the ARRL DX CW Contest. Operators were K5KG (J75JG), KK9K (J79RV), WI9WI (J79WI), W4IX (J79JRC) and K1XX (J79?). We were on the air extensively before the contest, each of using our individual J7 call signs. Concentration outside of the contest will be on CW on 160, 80, 30, 17 and 12 meters. New antennas for this trip will be a 2el 80m Inverted L, and a 4el 10m yagi. Other bands will be 2el. 40m loops, 12m loop, C3 yagi and A3 yagi.
November 2013 operation will be George, K5KG / J75KG, Jim, WI9WI / J79WI, and Gus, VO1MP / J79MP. In CQWW CW, the call was J73A.
QSL's for J73A go to WI9WI with SASE or return postage. No IRCs or Bureau Cards.
