Fred PA0FAW is running PA44AH from September 1 till September 28 2014, to remember the Battle of Arnhem.
I was born in Arnhem in May 1944 and when fighting started, we had to leave the town in September 1944. We stayed with the whole family (more than 20), in a horse stable in the village of Eerbeek, about 15 km from Arnhem. We were liberated in May 1945 and could go home.
The house had gone, bombarded by the British, when they tried to destroy the railway bridge.
This is my reason for running this special station.
