3B9/OE4AAC Febr. 10-18, 2014   Sorry,no Internet access.
Will start uploading Clublog beginning of March 2014

Radio background of
OE4AAC, ex Calls: HB9ADP (1962-2010), 5A1TY (1966-1969), KR4AN (1991-1996), 3B7RF (02/1998)3B9/OE4AAC (02/2012, 02/2014), also W4ADP since 1996.
Reading Thor Heyerdahl's KON-TIKI ( Heyerdahl sailed from Peru to Polynesia on a Balsa Raft in 1947 ) , gotme interested in Ham Radio at the age of 16. I asked myself, how was it possible to talk in Morse Codeon Kurzwelle, using RF Power equivalent to a small light bulb? Covering an unbeliveable distance from the South Pacific to the US and Norway? Kon-Tiki's callsign was LI2B. More info at www.kon-tiki.no
Four years later, at the age of 20, I received my Swiss call HB9ADP and was active in CW and AM, using a home-brew transmitter (20W 6L6 final) and a Hallicrafters S40A Receiver. Savings had been invested in Radio Equipment and in late 1963 I was proud owner of a brand new Hallicrafters SR-150 Transceiver, the poor man's Collins KWM-2. This lovely, 18-tubes transceiver was my very first commercial gear, is still in my possesion, in perfect shape and operational.
While working for an Oil Company and on a Military Project in Lybia from 1966 to 1969, I was active as5A1TY. Lost call, job and equipment (Drake 4B-Line) in Gadafi's September 69 revolution.
Active also out of Inverness, FLA, from 1991 to 1996 as KR4AN, upgraded to an extra class vanity call W4ADP. Sold FL property and tower to a nice guy from the W3 area in 2001.
In 1998, member of the 3B7RF expedition to San Brandon (Mauritius), was responsible for equiment and antennas. Was also low band CW operator.
February 2012: Holiday-Style DXpedition to Rodrigues Isl. 3B9/OE4AAC, over 4700 CW Q's, same expedition will take place from February 10-18, 2014. Same location, same equipemnt, same operator, HI
Logs uploaded to ClubLog shortly after I return from Rodrigues Isl.

Retired from my HAM-Radio business in Switzerland in 2005,moved to my native Austria, near the place I grew up in the 1940's. I enjoy my present call OE4AAC, chasing DX and new entities, mostly in CW.Through all these years, I have been collecting paper QSL cards. All QSL received will be answered 100 percent via BUREAU or DIRECT. For DIRECT requests, please include a SAE and (1) valid IRC (must be stamped at the left corner) or (2) GS to cover return postage. If we had the pleasure of a QSO, please QSL, either through bureau or direct.
Thank you for visiting this page! CW 4 EVER.
73, Eric(h) OE4AAC

current QSLs:

personal:
I was born in 1958 in Eastern Germany and got my first Ham Radio license at the age of 16 in March 1975. My first callsign was DM3PFF. Until 1990, the year of the reunification of Eastern- and Western Germany, I never had the chance to experience the other side of the pile ups. Nevertheless, it took up to 2003 before I participated in my first DXpedition to Kerkennah Island, Tunisia TS7N. In the following years I attended more or less large DXpeditions every year. As you can see in my callsign - CW is my favored mode and I especially like beautiful CW pile ups.
I am member of the Bavarian Contest Club and operate at most major DX contests in the M/M category at the contest station DR1A in Goch, near the Dutch border. Of course I'm interested in DXing itself. My last "All Time New One" was K9W on Wake Island. Currently my last missing entities are P5 North Korea and KH5 Palmyra & Jarvis Isl.
By the way - most people call me by my nickname "Paul" rather than using the real name.
