Saint Lucia Listeni/snt ˈlʃə/ (FrenchSainte-Lucie) is a sovereign island country in the easternCaribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean.[4] Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique. It covers a land area of 617 km2 (238.23 sq mi) and has a population of 174,000 (2010). Its capital isCastries. Two Nobel laureatesArthur Lewis, an economist, and Derek Walcott, a poet and playwright, have come from the island. It is the nation with the second most such honorees per capita after the Faroe Islands.
One of the Windward Islands, St. Lucia was named after Saint Lucy of Syracuse by the French, the first European colonizers. They signed a treaty with the native Carib people in 1660. England took control of the island from 1663 to 1667; in ensuing years, it was at war with France 14 times and rule of the island changed frequently (it was seven times each ruled by the French and British). In 1814, the British took definitive control of the island. Because it switched so often between British and French control, Saint Lucia was also known as the "Helen of the West Indies".
Saint Lucia has a legal system based on British common law. The judiciary is independent and conducts generally fair public trials.[5]The financial sector has weathered the global financial crisis, but the recession has hurt tourism.
Representative government came about in 1924 (with universal suffrage from 1953). From 1958 to 1962, the island was a member of the Federation of the West Indies. On February 22, 1979, Saint Lucia became an independent state of the Commonwealth of Nations associated with the United Kingdom.[4] The island nation celebrates this every year with a public holiday. It is also a member ofla Francophonie.[6]

Rig: K2 (100W) and G5RV dipoles. CW software = SD. Data software = MixW. Located on south coast (Rockley).
For direct QSL's please send an addressed envelope plus one IRC or US$2 for all of the world via G3RWL only. If you do not send envelope or correct postage I will return my QSL to you via the bureau. All QSO's up to 2012 have been entered on LOTW. I DO NOT ACCEPT EURO COINS.
This rig and antennas are the same as I used at FH/G3SWH from 26 February 2009 to 4 March 2009 (QSL via G3SWH). I was also an operator at T32C (QSL via G3NUG).
All activity to date has been uploaded to LOTW. Next activity March/April 2013
I accept e-mail requests for bureau QSLs; please do not send a card if you do this. In one day I often make over 200 QSO's, please help me to find your QSO in my log. I sometimes get requests without info! 'Log extracts' are fine, that is: Date (UTC), time (UTC), band, mode, and your callsign. I do not QSL from QRZ Logbook. I do not use EQSL. For all other operator info, see G3RWL. When I am on a DX trip I do not reply to email until I go home to G3RWL.
I mostly make my QSOs in contest style: XX1XX 599, TU (next pse), YY2YY 599, TU etc etc. Someone asked me if I like to be so fast. Yes but I will always answer questions and I chat sometimes. Why do I like it ? because, although 8P6 is not high on the world's 'wanted' list, it is not a 'common' country - there aren't so many cw operators there - and I enjoy to give many people a new country. If I stop to chat to everyone then there is less time for many people to get the new country. My pleasure is to give this 'new one' to people.
QRP stations: I NEVER log /QRP, please don't send it to me. Likewise I will NEVER put /QRP on QSL cards.

Tnx fer 2nd QSO 72's : )..Today too  ..FB signal in JA : )

Thank you for visiting my QRZ page.
I was born in 1959. Began my Radio activity in 1974 in Makeevka city, Ukraine (ex USSR), on collective station UK5IAA.
In 1980 after finishing the marine college, I was offered to work in Sankt-Petersburg (Leningrad) for shipping company as radio officer.
In 1993 this position became redundant worldwide, so I was trained as a navigator. I’ve been holding this position for 15 years & now I'm a Captain.
When the democracy in Russia came to life really, I got my first call sign - RA1AIF in 2008 year,
(most known as: RA1AIF/mm - marine mobile QRP).
I'm CW fan !!! My keys: Begali "Magnetic" , "old" postal stright key,
original Soviet Army mini stright key and some home made bug or sideswiper keys.
Rigs: Elecraft K3- at home psn, Yaesu FT-817ND & Elecraft K2 - QRP, both of last two I use in my travel.

QSL policy: 100 % QSL on every new band & mode. I am sending my paper cards quarterly via the bureau. Direct QSL is not a problem.
I use eQSL as well as RA1AIF. I upload my QSOs monthly.
