- The Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO): One of the key pillars of the Non Proliferation Treaty which bans any nuclear-weapon test explosion or any other nuclear explosion anywhere in the world. CTBTO operates the International Monitoring System (IMS) required by the Treaty. The latter, a worldwide network of 321 monitoring stations, uses four different technologies- seismic, radionuclide, hydroacoustic and infrasound- to collect data in order to detect and identify the occurrence of nuclear explosions.www.ctbto.org
