Prince Edward Island (PEI or P.E.I.; French: Île-du-Prince-Édouard, pronounced: [il dy pʁɛ̃s edwaːʁ], Mi'kmaq: Epekwitk, Scottish Gaelic: Eilean a' Phrionnsa) is a Canadian province consisting of an island of the same name, as well as other islands. The maritime province is the smallest in the nation in both land area and population. The island has a few other names: "Garden of the Gulf" referring to the pastoral scenery and lush agricultural lands throughout the province; and "Birthplace of Confederation", referring to the Charlottetown Conference in 1864, although PEI did not join the confederation until 1873, when it became the seventh Canadian province.
According to the 2011 census, the province of Prince Edward Island has 140,204 residents. It is located approximately 200 km north of Halifax, Nova Scotia and 600 km east of Quebec City. It consists of the main island plus 231 minor islands.[4] Altogether, the entire province has a land area of 5,685.73 km2 (2,195.27 sq mi).[2]

The Skyview Radio Society contest team will be QRV from PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND, VY2 (IOTA: NA-029) from 9-26-12 until 10-1-12 and participating the CQ WW DX RTTY contest. Operators Bob WC3O, Bob K3RMB, Pat NK3P, Steve KB3EYY and Tony KB3HGJ will beQRV from the PEI. They will operate from 80 to 10 meters in CW, SSB and RTTY as VY2/homecall.
